Day tour to UNESCO site Rohtas Fort and Khewra Salt Mine

Rohtas Fort is a UNESCO Heritage site located some 2,5 hours drive away from Islamabad. It is also called Qila Rohtas in Urdu. It was built in 16th century by Sher Shah Suri and represents a prime example of a Muslim military architecture. Minimal restoration was performed on it but overall all the materials, form and features are authentic. 

Khewra Salt Mine is the 2nd largest mine in the world and is famous for production of its pink salt. 

Today we will start around 8 am driving toward Jhelum to visit magnificent Rohtas Fort. We will spend there about 2-3 hours and later will have lunch. After that we will head to Khewra Salt Mines. In the late afternoon we will return back to Islamabad.
