Near Skardu, in the north of Pakistan, we can find Katpana Desert, also called Cold Desert. It’s a beautiful area stretching from the Khaplu Valley to Ladakh, with the largest part in Skardu and Shigar. The Cold Desert has several large sand dunes and it is one of the highest deserts in the world.

We work together with a small low-impact camp in the desert with magnificent views over the valley and the river. The camp is an ideal base to hike and just simply relax. People typically stay 3 to 4 days, which is an ideal duration.

The camp has cute little luxury huts with comfortable beds and a magnificent panoramic view over the valley. There is a beautiful dining room with big glass windows to enjoy the sun rays while having tea or eating. In the evening we can light a campfire and do some star gazing.
